Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities
The Topeka Performing Arts Center has always had a great relationship and support from Topeka area corporations and businesses. Throughout our history we have utilized these relationships to present shows, produce Sheffel Theater Clinic and School Time Theater, support our primary fundraiser Grape Escape and our grass roots event Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays.
TPAC strives to provide quality programming and events through co-promotions and rentals of the facility. Quite often major events require additional support. For these events TPAC's Executive Director contacts local businesses to ask for financial support. Sponsorships for shows range from $250-$20,000 depending on the show. As the primary fundraiser this wine and food event provides a fun environment for patrons, sponsors and donors while benefiting TPAC's general operations. In addition to samplings, attendees can bid on a wide array of silent auction items and participate in the Live Auction that culminates the event. With three stages of entertainment there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout TPAC's main level.
Sponsorship - Because Grape Escape is a fundraiser, TPAC staff seeks sponsors to help offset the costs of hosting this spectacular event. Sponsorship levels begin at $650.
Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays
This family friendly event Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays is a fundraiser to benefit youth arts programming at TPAC. This event raises funds through a small admission fee, the auctioning of gingerbread homes and proceeds from Sweet Tooth Lane and the Holiday Boutique.
Children, teens, adults, senior citizens, families and professional cooks are encouraged to participate in building a home.
Each year TPAC solicits donations and sponsorships to help cover the costs of the event. Through a generous donation from title sponsor, Capitol Federal, TPAC has been proud to host Gingerbread Homes for the Holidays for 15 years.
Youth Education Programs
Part of TPAC's mission is to provide excellent educational programs to Northeast Kansas. Early exposure to theater arts cannot be underestimated, and it has proven to be an exciting and rewarding time, not only for the students, but also for those involved in teaching their craft to the attentive and appreciative young attendees.
There is overwhelming evidence that children involved in the arts are more likely to remain in school and achieve at a higher level than those who do not participate in those types of programs. That is why the Sheffel Theater Clinic and the Schooltime Theater productions continue to be so important to Shawnee
County and the surrounding communities.
Sheffel Theater Clinic
Established in 1995 by a grant awarded by Irving and the late Beth Sheffel, The Sheffel Theater Clinic (STC) provides an important cultural supplement to area schools' arts education curriculum by introducing students to the creativity and magic of live theater.
Schooltime Theater Performances
Underwritten by Security Benefit this program brings professional live theater to Topeka geared toward specific grade levels and subjects. Given the budget cuts of recent years schools are finding it harder and harder to take field trips. Through additional donations to the Schooltime Theater program TPAC is able to discount and offer no cost solutions to having schools attend events. TPAC has also been able to provide bussing in certain circumstances.
The Young Artist of the Year Awards
Founded in 1995, and is sponsored by T&T Management (Steve & Karen Tyler). Any Shawnee County high school junior can be nominated in one of ten awards categories: instrumental music, musical theater, vocal music, dramatic theater, ballet/classical/modern dance, tap/jazz/other dance, visual arts, creative writing, technical theater, and community services in the arts. A panel of judges reviews the nominees' work to choose the best in each category. Sponsors are needed to help off set the costs of the Awards Recognition Banquet held each Spring.
